Capital City Royal Show Dates

To assist State Clubs when making application to conduct National Shows we list below confirmed dates of Capital City Royal Show dates Australia wide to the Year 2010.

In accordance with ANKC Regulations Part 13 Clause 4.2.6 a National Show shall not be held on the same date as a State or Territory Capital City Royal Show where it would preclude exhibitors from participating in either event.   This also applies to General Specials day at the Royal Show.  There must be at least a five [5] days gap before and after the two [2] actual judging dates.

Where the ANKC grants a National Show date during a Capital City Royal Show in the same State or Territory, then in accordance with ANKC Regulations Part 13 Clause 4.2.7 the Member Body in the State/Territory of the Royal Show shall notify the Royal of the days in which the particular breed cannot be exhibited at their Royal Show.  This applies to all Capital City Royal Shows.

RE-REGISTERING AN IMPORTED DOG

Recently some ANKC Member Body’s Offices and the National Breed Standards Coordination Group (NBSCG) have received correspondence seeking a guarantee that the pedigree of a proposed imported Dog meets all ANKC regulations and therefore would be automatically re-registered on the ANKC Main Stud Book Register or for a new breed to Australia, would be automatically recognised by the ANKC when the imported dog arrives in Australia.

Neither the NBSCG, nor an ANKC Office are able to give a guarantee that a pedigree for proposed imported dog will meet all the criteria required by ANKC Regulations.

It is recommended that the proposed Importer obtain a WRITTEN guarantee from the proposed Exporter that all dogs in the background of the Official Pedigree are fully registered in accordance with ANKC requirements, and that all dogs in the background of the Official Pedigree are registered as the same breed as the proposed imported dog.

Breed Standard Extensions

Please find below a list of the Breed Standard Extensions, which have been developed by the Australian National Kennel Council.  Included are those recently released.  Under the ANKC National Show Judges Training Programme, ANKC approved Breed Standard Extensions form an important part of the training and testing of trainee judges and are required to be used by State and Territory Member Bodies for that purpose.  Further, those delivering breed lectures where a BSE exists are required to use the document as the basis of their lecture.

Extensions are also available for the purpose of educating breed enthusiasts.  Hard copies of Breed Standard Extensions are available from the ANKC Member Body Offices.
